Family Planning Estimation Tool

Training Module

Data Basics

Data is the heart of FPET and it is important that you understand the different types of data that FPET uses, how they differ, and what they can and cannot tell us about family planning services and programs. The model combines population data, survey data, and service statistics (when input by the user) to calculate annual estimates of contraceptive prevalence, unmet need and demand for family planning satisfied by conraceptive methods.

Training Materials

To learn more about all the different kinds of data used by FPET, review the Training Materials below. A more detailed look at service statistics is included later in the module on the Adding Service Statistics page, or on the Resources page.

It's time to dive into the tool! The next section will walk you through a basic FPET run using pre-loaded default data.
